Tο Φεστιβάλ Ανεξάρτητου Κινηματογράφου της Αθήνας ΚΙΝΟ ΑΤΗΕΝS ανακοινώνει τη φετινή εναρκτήρια ταινία του. Πρόκειται για την ταινία EUROPA, η προβολή της οποίας θα πραγματοποιηθεί υπό την Αιγίδα του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου, παρουσία της σκηνοθέτιδας Sudabeh Mortezai, την Παρασκευή 1 Μαρτίου 2024, στην Τεχνόπολη Δήμου Αθηναίων, όπου θα προβληθεί για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα.

Το φετινό ΚΙΝΟ ATHENS θα πραγματοποιηθεί για 2η χρονιά από 1 έως 10 Μαρτίου 2024 στο Ίδρυμα Μιχάλης Κακογιάννης, την Τεχνόπολη και το Σεράφειο Δήμου Αθηναίων, ενώ στους χώρους εκδηλώσεων προστίθεται και το Γαλλικό Ινστιτούτο Ελλάδος. Η διοργάνωση υλοποιείται με την υποστήριξη του Δήμου Αθηναίων, του Athens Film Office και του Ελληνικού Κέντρου Κινηματογράφου. Το 2^ο ΚΙΝΟ ATHENS θα περιλαμβάνει ταινίες κάθε είδους, από όλο τον κόσμο, από το ανεξάρτητο σινεμά, με διαγωνιστικά τμήματα μικρού και μεγάλου μήκους, εργαστήρια, masterclasses, DJ sets και άλλες παράλληλες δράσεις.

Το αναλυτικό πρόγραμμα του Φεστιβάλ θα ανακοινωθεί στις 15 Φεβρουαρίου 2024  στην ιστοσελίδα του KINO Athens www.kinoathens.org.

Beate is an ambitious executive working at EUROPA, a mysterious corporation looking to expand into the Balkans region. Seemingly promoting philanthropy and investment in underdeveloped areas, Europa actually needs to buy off lands from locals in a remote valley in Albania using Beate as the main negotiator for this ambiguous mission. But things don't go as planned when she is challenged by Jetnor, a stubborn and spiritual farmer who refuses to leave the land of his ancestors.

Στην καρδιά της Αθήνας, όπου γεννήθηκε η δημοκρατία, το μικρό μας Φεστιβάλ γίνεται ένας σύγχρονος χώρος διαλόγου, ανταλλαγής και γιορτής. Η Αιγίδα που χορηγήθηκε στο ΚΙΝΟ ATHENS από την Πρόεδρο του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου αποτελεί δήλωση για την κοινή δέσμευση για την προώθηση της δημιουργικότητας, του διαλόγου και της κατανόησης. Με την προώθηση ταινιών που εξερευνούν την πλούσια πολιτιστική παλέτα παγκοσμίως, το Φεστιβάλ μας συμβάλλει στο όραμα της ΕΕ για μια ενωμένη, αλλά και πολιτιστικά ποικιλόμορφη ήπειρο.  Ο κινηματογράφος, ως παγκόσμια γλώσσα, ξεπερνά τα σύνορα και μιλά στον πυρήνα των ανθρώπινων εμπειριών. Η δημοκρατία, ως θεμελιώδης αξία, είναι πολύπλοκα συνυφασμένη με τον ιστό τόσο του κινηματογράφου, όσο και της ΕΕ. Σας προσκαλούμε κατά τη διάρκεια του Φεστιβάλ μας (1-10 | 3 | 2024) στην Αθήνα για να γιορτάσουμε τον κινηματογράφο που ξεπερνά τις οθόνες, τα σύνορα και τις ιδεολογίες, εμπλουτίζοντας τη συλλογική μας εμπειρία και επιβεβαιώνοντας τη διαρκή δύναμη της αφήγησης στη διαμόρφωση του κόσμου που μοιραζόμαστε.

The 2nd edition of the Festival will take place in Athens, from March 1st to 10th, 2024  at the Μichael Cacoyiannis Foundation, the Technopolis City of Athens, the Serafio City of Athens and the French Institute of Greece.

The final Program of this year’s Festival will be officially announced on 15^th of February 2024 at ΚΙΝΟ Athens.
